This basane leather, with a thickness of 1.4 mm to 1.6 mm, is treated using vegetable tanning by our renowned tannery in South-West France. Its metal frame features a wooden slat base and a high-quality Bultex mattress from a renowned French brand, confirming a secure and durable design. Its structure and legs are made from solid beechwood, a dense and robust material celebrated for its longevity.
Choose from eight standard leather colours: honey, Havana, cognac, chocolate, black, red, antique green, and English green. If youāre looking for something unique, we can create a custom shade to match a sample you provide. You can also select your preferred level of seating comfort: firm, medium, or soft. Furthermore hidden springs can be added to the backrest for softer support and a slight “bounce” effect.
The back of the sofa is enhanced by a delicate nailhead trim, a stunning vintage detail that can be replaced with a leather piping finish if you like.

The leather
Our Club chairs are made of 1.4/1.6 mm thick full grain sheep leather (basane leather).
This leather is renowned for its strength and softness and guarantees excellent long-term durability.
The vegetable tanning of our skins is done in the Toulouse region by a tannery with world-renowned know-how.
During assembly, in order to obtain an optimal result, we wet the leather so that it perfectly fits the curves of the model.
We then let the skin dry naturally.
The colour and finish
Once the chair is dry, we colour it with the chosen shade.
Once dyed, the leather is patinated and waxed by hand to bring out the roughness of the leather. This step underlines the elegance and the beautiful natural colour of the material. The back is studded or finished with piping, as desired.

The frame
The frame and legs of our models are made entirely of solid beech. Our wood is kiln-dried, which increases its strength. The joints are carefully stapled and glued.

The more you use your bed, the more durable and high quality your mattress needs to be. You’ll often find mattresses on the market labelled āpolyurethane foamā, but this is not enough, nor is it a guarantee of quality. In fact, these mattresses are only relatively comfortable and have a limited lifespan.
At MyClubChair, our club convertible sofas are all equipped with quality mattresses – we’ve chosen peace of mind, for our customers and for ourselves.
The mechanics of the convertible bed
The bed’s mechanism is also important. It must be solid and easy to open. Make sure it’s high quality and easy to open. Remember, the sofa bed must be functional and adapt to your daily life, not the other way round. A bed that’s too heavy for you to unfold is a bed you’ll end up not using. In the end, you’ll regret your purchase, so make sure the mechanics are impeccable and solid.
Remember: it’s normal to strain a little when opening a convertible bed, but an adult should be able to unfold it easily.
For our convertible club sofas, we’ve opted for a 3-ply mechanism that inserts into the wooden frame. All our models are equipped with a cozy, 8cm HR polyurethane foam mattress. Only the Hemingway and Grand CarrĆ© convertible sofas feature a 13 cm thick mattress, for the most demanding sleepers. All our bed bases are made of wooden slats, far more comfortable and durable than the sprung bases of our ancestors.
Last but not least, our convertible bed systems are based on high-quality mechanics that are easy to open and close on a daily basis.
