The Années Folles Club Chair is inspired by the authentic chairs of the 1930s. These post-war years marked a society reacting to years of austerity with an intense quest for freedom and modernity. Gone were the prohibitions and deprivations, making way for celebration and enchantment!
Furniture did not escape this rule. Thus, seats underwent a radical transformation, emphasising comfort and style.
The 1920s saw the emergence of the Art Deco movement. The trend was then towards geometric style furniture with curved shapes. These elements inspired us and are found in this Années Folles Club Chair. This model features a contoured backrest and rounded armrests that invite you to lounge in complete relaxation. Handcrafted by skilled artisans, it shines with the quality of its craftsmanship and attention to detail.
This basane leather club chair embodies the spirit of the era, blending elegance and comfort seamlessly.
To cover it, we use the finest materials, specifically full-grain sheepskin leather, waxed and hand-patinated. This type of upholstery is warm, aesthetic, and soft to the touch. The slight texture differences you may observe are signs of full-grain leather, neither corrected nor rectified. This is precisely what makes its charm: it is completely unique. Similar to fine wine, you will be surprised to see it improve over time. Unlike industrial leathers, basane leather has the advantage of ageing well!

Our Club chairs are made of 1.4/1.6 mm thick full grain sheep leather (basane leather).
This leather is renowned for its strength and softness and guarantees excellent long-term durability.
The vegetable tanning of our skins is done in the Toulouse region by a tannery with world-renowned know-how.
During assembly, in order to obtain an optimal result, we wet the leather so that it perfectly fits the curves of the model.
We then let the skin dry naturally.
Once the chair is dry, we colour it with the chosen shade.
Once dyed, the leather is patinated and waxed by hand to bring out the roughness of the leather. This step underlines the elegance and the beautiful natural colour of the material. The back is studded or finished with piping, as desired.

The frame and legs of our models are made entirely of solid beech. Our wood is kiln-dried, which increases its strength. The joints are carefully stapled and glued.
